IVF

This method involves incubating selected motile sperm with the egg in a culture medium under laboratory conditions that closely mimic the natural environment. The sperm must penetrate the cumulus cell layer and the outer shell of the egg for natural fertilization to occur.

The egg is checked 18 hours later for signs of fertilization. Conventional IVF is suitable for couples with normal sperm parameters but is not recommended in cases of severe male factor infertility or previous IVF failures.
